Three persons killed in road accident in Karak

Three members of a family were killed in a road accident on Friday. Three persons, Basirullah, Nabeel and Rauf of Algadi area in Karak were killed when their motorcycle rammed into a car on the Indus Highway near Tableeghi Markaz.


The relatives of the deceased registered a first information report (FIR) against the motorcar driver in Karak Police Station but the accused escaped. In another incident, five persons were seriously injured when two motorcycles collided head-on in Latambar area. The injured, identified as Najeeb, Daraz, Ayub, Asad and Raham Nawaz, were rushed to the nearby health centre but were later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital because of their critical condition.

Moreover, three persons were injured when a car overturned in Sicot area because of speeding. The injured including Noor Wali Khan, Azam Khan and Gul Wali were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital, Karak, for treatment. Two of the injured were later shifted to Peshawar.

Meanwhile, Wazir tribesmen residing in Karak continued to visit the Zebi dam and Lawagher dam for picnic during the Eidul Azha holidays despite imposition of Section 144 on the visit to dams because of growing incidents of drowning.

Four of a family killed in Kohat on Eid day

Police on Friday detained four persons for the gun attack on a van on a suburban road on the first day of Eidul Azha that killed a family of four and injured at least two persons.


Van driver Mansoor Shah reported to Bilitang police on the Eid day that the family had hired his van for a visit to Kot village.

It was on the return journey home that unidentified gunmen attacked the family, killing Roshan, Shakeela Begum, 50, her son Jamal and nephew Muzammal Khan on the spot. One Zobash and the driver were injured in the attack

Suspecting it to be a case of killing in revenge, the Bilitang police detained four people from the group which had old enmity with the deceased. The aggrieved party has not yet registered an FIR.

In another incident, one Naveed was killed in Garhi Dhodhewal on the second day of Eid on Thursday.

The city police have registered a murder case against Jehangir and his son Shehzad, who have been nominated in the FIR.

The police conducted raids for arrest of the alleged culprits who escaped after committing the crime.

VC Islamia College kidnapped by Waziristan Taliban not TTP: Tariq Afridi

Central commander of banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan Tariq Afridi has said that his outfit is not involved in kidnapping of Vice Chancellor of Islamia College University Peshawar Ajmal Khan.




Talking to a private TV channel TTP commander for Dera Adam Khail and Khyber Agency Tariq Afridi said that his men had kidnapped Vice Chancellor Kohat University Latif ullah Kaka Khel and had demanded release of their arrested accomplices and heavy ransom money in return for release of VC. He said that the government accepting their demand had freed 50 militant and large amount ransom was paid after which Latif Kaka Khel was freed.



Taliban Commander said we are not involved in the kidnapping of Vice Chancellor Islamia College University Peshawar Ajmal Khan, however we are been told that kidnapped Vice Chancellor has been kidnapped by Waziristan Taliban

Man burnt alive on Kohat highway

The driver of an oil tanker which fell into a deep ravine on the hilly track between Darra Adamkhel and Kohat was burnt alive on Monday.


The Jungle Khel police said oil tanker (K-4461) was on its way to Peshawar from Karachi when it fell from the dangerous hilly track.

The oil tanker exploded burning alive its driver Ismail, resident of Yakatoot area of Peshawar.
