Foundation of hospital laid in Darra Adamkhel

The foundation of the first Women and Children Hospital was laid in Darra Adamkhel, Frontier Region Kohat, the other day.

Talking to The News, president of coalmines of Darra Adamkhel, Sabir Afridi said that the income being generated from the coalmines in Qasimkhel area was Rs15 million per month and added that the local people had realised that there should be some health facilities in the area. e said that Rs3.6 million would preliminary be spent on the project of hospital for women and children which would be furnished with all medical facilities. He said the initiative had been taken purely on self-help by the local residents to provide better healthcare to the people.
He said the cases of women and children would be handled in the hospital instead of taking to hospitals in Peshawar or Kohat. He said such project was private and being financed by the income being generated from the coalmines.
