Four gunned down in Kohat

Four persons including father and son were shot dead in Mandakhel area in the limits of Bilitang Police Station here Monday, police said.




Lodging a case with the police, Muhammad Ishfaq said his father, Raees Khan, brother Sanaullah and two cousins Abdul Ghaffar and Sheharyar were on way home from the mosque after ‘Isha prayers’ when the gunmen opened fire on them.



Raees Khan and his son Sanaullah were killed on the spot while two others sustained critical injuries. The injured were transported to the District Headquarters Hospital Kohat where they succumbed to injuries. The motive behind the incident could not be ascertained.



Two POs held in Mansehra: The police here Tuesday claimed arresting two proclaimed offenders. Police sources said that Khan Afsar and his brother Sher Bahadar were wanted by Mansehra police in many cases of heinous nature including the murder of six people in Danna area.



The sources said the district police sent a team to Dera Ghazi Khan after receiving information about the presence of the outlaws there. A raid was conducted jointly by the Elite Force of Punjab and Mansehra police on a hotel in Dera Ghazi Khan and the accused were nabbed and shifted to Mansehra. The accused were reportedly planning to shift to Afghanistan from Dera Ghazi Khan.
