2 soldiers die in Darra blast

KOHAT: Two soldiers were killed and six others sustained injuries in a roadside blast at Akhorwal area in Darra Adamkhel, Frontier Region (FR) Kohat, on Saturday. Sources said unidentified miscreants had planted improvised explosive device (IED) outside the Government Degree College at Akhorwal area, which went off at 7pm, leaving two soldiers Nayyar Sohail and Safeer dead and six others injured. One of the injured soldiers was identified as Zaheer. Bodies of the slain soldiers were shifted to the Combined Military Hospitals in Kohat and Peshawar. The security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation, besides closing the Indus Highway for all kinds of vehicular traffic. No group or individual has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
