Gift-bomb’ kills policeman in Karak

KARAK: A police constable was killed and another was injured when a ‘gift-bomb’ exploded at Changhoz Latamber police checkpoint on Thursday. The sources said that an unidentified driver of a Bannu-bound pickup handed over a tape-recorder to Head Constable Samiullah, saying that it was sent to him by one of his friends. The sources said as the head constable pressed the play button the bomb went off, killing him on the spot and seriously injuring Constable Riaz. The injured constable was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in a precarious condition.
